Flower Arranging Simplified

1.  For an easy arrangement choose just one type of flower
and arrange in an abundant mass.

2.  Choose flowers at various stages of opening - a combination of
tight buds, half-open, and fully open flowers.

3.  For a mixed bouquet, try to vary the types of flowers yet harmonize the colors.

4.  You can "fluff" rose heads that aren't fully open by easing them open a bit with your fingers.  They'll fill the arrangement better and look more relaxed.

5.  A few bud vases featuring one flower each is a simple way to forgo any arranging at all.

6.  For plants with woody stems like hydrangeas or flowering branches, use garden pruners to split the stem at its base (1-2 inch cut) to maximize water.

Listen, can you hear it? Spring's sweet cantata.
The strains of grass pushing through the snow.
The song of buds swelling on the vine.
The tender timpani of a baby robin's heart. Spring.

Spring makes its own statement, so loud and clear that the gardener seems to be only one of the instruments, not the composer.
